About Me

Dr. Rambod Amirnovin, MD, FAAP is a fellowship-trained, board-certified critical care physician who specializes in pediatrics with South Counties Pediatric Critical Care Medical Group (SCPCCMG).

His clinical interests include pediatric cardiac critical care, especially improving outcome and quality of care in this population, as well as the use of cardiac biomarkers in this fragile population of children.

He received his medical degree from University of California, San Diego (UCSD) School of Medicine and his residency in pediatrics from Massachusetts General Hospital (MGHfC), Harvard University. He then completed two fellowships; the first in pediatric critical care medicine from University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) School of Medicine and Children’s Hospital of Oakland (CHO) and the second in pediatric cardiac critical from Children’s Hospital, Los Angeles (CHLA), Keck School of Medicine of the University of Southern California (USC). Dr. Amirnovin is board-certified in pediatrics and pediatric critical care from the American Board of Pediatrics.

Dr. Amirnovin served as Medical Director of Quality Improvement for the Department of Anesthesiology Critical Care Medicine at Children’s Hospital, Los Angeles (CHLA). Later, he served as Medical Director of the Cardiothoracic Intensive Care Unit (CICU) and Co-Director of the Pediatric Heart Center at Loma Linda University Children’s Hospital (LLUCH) until 2021. Under his leadership, U.S. News & World Report ranked LLUCH Pediatric Heart Center in the Top 50 in the USA for the first time.

He is actively involved in clinical research and has published numerous peer-reviewed manuscripts. He is a member of the American Medical Association, American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), Society of Critical Care Medicine (SCCM), and Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care Society (PCICS).

Outside of work, Dr. Amirnovin enjoys spending time with his two daughters and his wife Kelli, skiing, reading, and writing poetry.
