About Me
Before joining MemorialCare this year, James Jong Lee, M.D. had a lengthy and distinguished career with the Department of Veterans Affairs as a primary care/internal medicine physician. He chose primary care more than 30 years ago with clinical interests in public health and providing broad spectrum care to patients. “I get the most satisfaction from active communication and discussion with my patients throughout the diagnostic and treatment process,” he says. “I am a good therapeutic listener and very patient. I respect my patients and am very confident in my clinical skills.” He is board certified in Internal Medicine.
Dr. Lee was born in Seoul, South Korea and came to the US with his family when he was 14. He grew up in the Maryland/Virginia area and returned to South Korea for medical school, graduating from the prestigious Yonsei University College of Medicine in 1993. He completed his postgraduate medical training at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC) – Mercy Department of Internal Medicine. Dr. Lee is Diplomate of the American Board of Internal Medicine.
As a physician, Dr. Lee says “My goal is to make patients feel better and live a healthier life. This has been my track record for 30 years.” A serious photographer, Dr. Lee enjoys taking photos of wildlife, particularly in Germany, Spain, France, Italy and Switzerland.
