About Me
Dr. Duckwiler serves as medical director of the Division of Interventional Neuroradiology program at the Comprehensive Stroke Center at MemorialCare Long Beach Medical Center. His practice and research has been centered on neurointervention since joining the UCLA faculty in 1989. He has been an investigator on three-stroke device trials, part of the steering committee for the Multimerci stroke trial and involved in presentations to the FDA and Medicare for approvals and payment for acute interventional stroke treatment. He has over 250 peer-reviewed published scientific articles and 5 Standards documents. He was involved in the development of aneurysm coiling and other agents used for embolization procedures. Dr. Duckwiler is past president of the Society of NeuroInterventional Surgery. Dr. Duckwiler serves as professor of radiology and director and chief of the interventional neuroradiology division and fellowship program at UCLA.
