About Me
Carey Cullinane, M.D., M.P.H., F.A.C.S. is a board-certified and fellowship-trained breast surgical oncologist at the MemorialCare at the Todd Cancer Institute at Long Beach Medical Center and Saddleback Medical Center. She also serves as a professor for the Department of Surgery at UC Irvine School of Medicine.
She received her medical degree from Tulane University School of Medicine and her residency in general surgery at Tulane University at Charity Hospital. She completed a Master of Public Health (MPH) at the Tulane University School of Public Health & Tropical Medicine Dr. Cullinane then completed two fellowship programs at City of Hope National Medical Center in clinical cancer genetics and surgical oncology, where she served as the Administrative Chief, Surgical Oncology Fellowship. She is board-certified by the American Board of Surgery.
Dr. Cullinane served as the Director, Cancer Risk & Prevention Program at the Todd Cancer Institute at Long Beach Medical Center; Surgeon and Director of Cancer Genetics at Breastlink Medical Group and Surgeon, Department of General Oncologic Surgery at City of Hope National Medical Center.
She has over a decade of scientific and medical research and has won several awards for her work. She has authored many peer-reviewed articles and book chapters and has presented at a variety of meetings. Her research interests include BRCA gene mutation; genetic cancer risk assessment and breast cancer diagnosis; and surgery of advanced malignancies.
Dr. Cullinane is a fellow with the Society of Surgical Oncology and American College of Surgeons (ACS); and a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO), Association of Women Surgeons, American Society of Breast Disease, American Society of Human Genetics, the City of Hope Surgical Society and the Tulane Surgical Society.
