Bonnie B Martin, CNM

Bonnie Martin is a certified nurse midwife who was intrigued by the art and science of midwifery at a young age. “I was inspired by attending the births of my siblings when I was 10 and 12 years old,” she states. “My mother had been cared for by midwives and I attended all of her appointments and childbirth education programs with her. I realized later on that women’s health and childbirth is a passion for me.”

Bonnie spent most of her life in Gig Harbor, WA which is a smaller maritime town on Puget Sound. She spent each summer from age 9 to 20 working on her father’s commercial fishing boat in Southeast Alaska. She chose nursing as her profession and attended Yale University School of Nursing, New Haven, CT, graduating in 2004. Bonnie has been a practicing nurse-midwife in Washington state for 20 years prior to moving to Orange County. She has attended over 1500 births in her career so far. She also provides routine women's health, and family planning care.

“I am excited to offer midwifery care in a new community and explore Orange County,” she states. ”I hope to help grow the midwifery practice at Memorial Care. I want to support patients in their optimal health journey. I am here to listen and guide in shared decision making so that each person reaches her own unique goals.” Bonnie most enjoys the professional satisfaction that comes from building relationships and providing continuity of care. “I really enjoy learning about people’s lives and helping them to welcome the newest member of their family.”

Out of the office, Bonnie enjoy hiking, triathlons and home improvement projects. “I also support my three children in their college and high school sports of swimming and water polo.”
